MOVING TO RECOVERY
6 week program to address mental health: stress, anxiety, trauma and depression

PsiYoga offers a unique program that promotes understanding of mental health from both a yoga framework and the framework of recovery. It brings an understanding of psychological and scientific principles to the practice of yoga and mindfulness to promote wellbeing on multiple levels: physical, mental, emotional and social. Research reveals that faster and more long-term healing occurs through the intelligent integration of mind and body techniques.

Over six weeks participants will learn to incorporate:

Breath based movements to help regulate and calm the nervous system, as well as supported restorative yoga poses that facilitate deep rest and relaxation

Learning safe and effective breathing techniques that mobilise the parasympathetic nervous system to balance the stress response system, and regulate the mind and emotions.

Evidence based techniques you can use in your daily life

Bottom up (somatic) versus Top Down (cognitive) approaches are explained and explored in practice

Important contraindications and guidelines for stress, anxiety and depression

Provide a safe and supportive community

Who is the course for?
Anybody with mental health concerns. No previous experience of yoga required.
No referral is required unless claiming a Medicare Rebate
In the past, physical classes have not been a positive experience, what should I expect?
Having a psychology background enables me to run my yoga classes in a trauma sensitive way. You will feel at ease at PsiYoga.

All equipment is provided, however, you are very welcome to bring your own.
